One town at a time, talking to the people who live there. Speaking from your first minute.
▶ DOWNLOAD ON THE APP STORE
Every town has locals to meet, the words you'll need there, and a postcard telling you who to find and what to do.
Each one gives you three things to say, with a hint when you want one. Say them and the next town opens. Nobody is marked.
The locals are characters who listen and talk back.

Say one and it turns green. A daily test of twenty words, marked as you go. Your own lists sit beside the ones the trip gives you.

Start at the beginning, or jump to any town that matches what you already know. Grammar arrives when you ask for it, explained simply.

Then one conversation a day. Selina Pro removes both limits.
▶ DOWNLOAD ON THE APP STOREWhether you have a trip booked or a country in mind, this is the Spanish or Italian you'll actually use: at the hostel desk, the bakery, the ticket window, the table.
Track your words spoken, lessons learned, towns visited and money earned along the way.
Email support@selinaapp.com and a person will answer.

Selina is a Spanish and Italian learning app made by Selina Languages, a business registered with ASIC in Queensland, Australia. This page says what we collect, what we do with it, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. Contact: privacy@selinaapp.com.
Your account. Your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier they issue and, if you allow it, your name and email. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one; we don't try to work around that.
Your voice. When you talk to a local in the app, your microphone audio is streamed to OpenAI, who turn it into text and generate the local's reply. We don't keep the audio. The transcript of a conversation stays on your device.
What you type. Translations you ask for, questions to the Interpreter, test answers, and the postcards you write are sent to OpenAI to be answered, marked or replied to.
Photos you choose to import. If you build a word list from a photo or a screenshot, that image is sent to OpenAI to read the words out of it. It isn't stored by us. We never access your photo library beyond the pictures you pick.
Speech recognition. If you dictate a question instead of typing it, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text. That may involve Apple's servers, under Apple's privacy policy.
Your progress. Towns finished, locals met, words you've said, test scores, speaking time and streaks, your word lists, and the postcards you've sent. Most of this lives on your device; your unlocks and account progress are also saved to our database so they follow you to a new phone.
Purchases. Selina Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details, only whether a subscription is active.
Ads attribution. If you installed Selina after tapping an Apple Ads advertisement, Apple tells us which campaign it was. That's a campaign number, not anything about you, and it isn't used to track you across other apps.
We don't run analytics or crash-reporting services, and there are no advertising networks in the app.
Because these providers are outside Australia, your data leaves the country when the app uses them.
To run the app, keep your progress, restore your subscription on a new device, and send account emails such as a password reset. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Your account data stays as long as your account does. Delete the account from Settings → Delete account and everything we hold about you is removed from our servers. Data held by OpenAI, Google and Apple is governed by their own retention policies.
Selina isn't for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Wherever you are, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by emailing privacy@selinaapp.com. If you're in Australia and you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Big changes we'll tell you about in the app.

These are the terms for using Selina, a Spanish and Italian learning app made by Selina Languages, a business registered with ASIC in Queensland, Australia. By using the app you agree to them. Contact: support@selinaapp.com.
You need to be at least 13. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
Your first hour of speaking is free. After that, the free plan allows one conversation a day of up to thirty minutes. Selina Pro removes both limits. Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple: the price and period are shown in the app before you buy, it renews until you cancel, and you cancel in your Apple subscription settings at least a day before the renewal date. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
Every conversation, translation, correction and reply in Selina is generated by an AI system. The locals are characters, not people. They can be wrong, and so can the translations and the marking. Selina is for practice; it isn't professional language tuition, and it isn't travel, legal or safety advice.
Selina is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial learning. Don't copy, sell or redistribute the app or its content, don't try to reverse-engineer it, and don't use automated tools to access it. Please don't use the conversations to try to make the characters say things that are abusive or illegal; we may suspend accounts that do.
You own what you write and say in the app. You give us permission to process it so the app can work, as described in the Privacy Policy.
The towns, locals, postcards, word lists, lessons and artwork are © Selina Languages and its licensors. All rights reserved.
The app is provided as is. To the extent the Australian Consumer Law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, and we're not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss from your use of the app. Nothing here removes any right or remedy the Australian Consumer Law gives you that can't be excluded by agreement.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes; keep using the app after that and the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia.
